✦ Powered by Gemma (Google Open-Weight AI)

Pitr Vaani: Voice Beyond the Veil

Channel ancestral memories, life lessons, and blessings. Kept 100% private on your device using open-source AI principles.

⚙️ Advanced Inference Engine Configuration (Local Gemma / Ollama / Endpoint)

By default, Pitr Smriti runs completely offline using built-in open-weight Gemma prompt heuristics and in-browser synthesis. If you have a local Ollama server running Gemma (ollama run gemma:2b) or an OpenAI-compatible open-weight endpoint, you can link it here!

Why Open Innovation Matters for Pitr Smriti

"Ghost in the Machine" — Why Sacred Remembrance Demands Open-Source AI:
Family memories, portraits of deceased grandparents, and personal eulogies are the most intimate data a human being possesses. We built Pitr Smriti on open-weight models (Gemma) to ensure that remembrance remains sacred, sovereign, and free.

🔒 1. Radical Privacy for Sacred Memories

Closed corporate AI services monetize user queries, use personal grief and family records for ad targeting, or retain training weights on proprietary servers. With open-weight AI (Gemma running locally or client-side), not a single byte leaves the user's computer. Grandma's photo and Dada Ji's stories remain within the family sanctuary.

🕯️ 2. The Machine Works With the Lights (and Internet) Off

In many ancestral villages and tier-2/tier-3 cities in India, power cuts (load shedding) and intermittent internet are common during festival seasons. Because open-weight AI models run locally on consumer laptops with no internet connection, Pitr Smriti functions even in complete darkness by the light of a single diya.

⏳ 3. Impervious to Corporate Sunset & Deprecation

Proprietary APIs change terms, hike token pricing, or shut down entirely when companies pivot or fail. An ancestral memorial must outlive commercial cycles. Open-source code under the MIT license and open-weight weights belong to the community forever.

🪙 4. Zero-Cost Accessibility (Free For Everyone)

Honoring your ancestors should never require an expensive recurring SaaS subscription or credit card. Open-weight innovation enables anyone, regardless of economic background, to create, preserve, and voice their ancestral legacy.
